Paige Weiss

Paige is studying the chemical defense and natural product chemistry of sea slugs in the genus Alderia, which have a pungent smell that could deter a range of mudflat predators. Her interests in the chemical ecology of marine heterobranchs (sea slugs) grew out of her undergraduate research at Humbolt State University on the beautiful Hopkins' Rose, Okenia rosacea. She plans to continue her studies after completing an M.S. by pursuing a Ph.D. in chemical ecology.
