KRUG LAB - EVOLUTIONARY AND LARVAL ECOLOGY OF MARINE INVERTEBRATES
Krisha Algoso
Krisha is a new M.S. student awarded a highly competitive LSAMP graduate fellowship to study the ecophysiology of kleptoplasty, chloroplast capture by sea slugs. At CSU Channel Islands, she did undergraduate research on thermal stress in the California mussel, ecological monitoring in the rocky intertidal zones of Santa Rosa Island, and life histories and diving physiology of Baleen whales. She was a STEM peer leader & tutor, has been a SACNISTA for four years, and presented her research at SACNAS in 2017. In addition to research, she enjoys sailing in the Channel Islands Harbor, where she was also a sailing and kayaking instructor for the Channel Islands Boating Center.
After earning the M.S. in Biology, Krisha aims to further her trajectory in academia by earning a PhD in marine biology, and continuing to educate her community about marine science. We are excited to have her join the lab!
